- Muchenje is a small owner-run camp accommodating 20 guests, offering first class service and hosting standards. The camp is suited to guests wishing to enjoy excellent game viewing conditions on the Chobe River frontage with fewer crowds.
- Walking
Safaris at Muchenje allow guests to explore the intricacies of the bush
studying animal behaviour, plants and insects
- Game Drives
are conducted in open Land Rovers with qualified professional guides.
- River
Cruises on the Chobe River allow guests to drift noiselessly past bathing
herds of Elephants, hippo pods and crocodiles as well as an amazing array of
birdlife.
- Cultural
visits to an elder's home offer a glimpse into tribal life of Botswana.
- Optional
activities include fishing and drives to the remotest parts of central
Chobe.
- This area is best known for its large herds of elephant (approximately 73000), buffalo and healthy prides of lion.
- Along the marshy river floodplain you will often spot the two antelope trademarks of Chobe, the water-loving red lechwe and the rare
puku.
Best time of the year
- Game at Muchenje is consistent year round; photographic opportunities are excellent especially at dawn and dusk.
- Low season
rates apply from November to March inclusive, mid season rates are then effective to
June, high season runs from July to October inclusive.
- The southern
"green season" between November and April is marked by dramatic scenery,
contrasting weather patterns and excellent light conditions for
photographers. At this time the area is inundated with migrant bird species,
the crowds don't exist and the African bush is at its most spectacular.

includes return transfers from the Botswana border at Kasane which is easily
connected from Victoria
Falls (Zimbabwe) or Livingstone (Zambia).
